《Tears of Stars in the Sea of Flames》 explores the profound connection between women, nature, and life. Inspired by Korean haenyeo culture, Taiwanese artist Hsin Hwang immerses herself in their experience, sensing their spiritual bond with the sea. In her works, the figures of haenyeo and mermaids intertwine, symbolizing the resilience and tenderness women embody when facing challenges. The mask imagery is inspired by Hsin's visit to the traditional mask performances in Andong, Korea, through which she seeks to express identity transformation, emotional expression, and cultural exploration in her drawings.
